Aloha kākou!
Aloha, my name is Andrea Kamalani Luchese. I’ve been teaching hula since 2003 and have served as a kumu hula since 2014. My training includes years of study with Kumu Raylene Haʻalelea Kawaiaeʻa and Kumu Keala Ching. I am based in Kohala on Hawaiʻi Island, where I teach in person, and also maintain a hula school in southern Oregon, where I continue to teach and return regularly. I created the online community of Ha’a Hula ‘Ohana to bridge the traditions of hula with the magic of the online space, sharing the heart of Hawaiian culture with all who feel called to learn. For me, hula and chant are powerful mediums through which we come into greater kinship with nature, spirit, and each other. If you’re looking for a supportive community where you can experience the transformative power of hula or Hawaiian chant, I warmly welcome you into our space and hope to see you in an online class!
