Inspired by the universal value of ALOHA, we strive to be our best selves through the practice of hula, chant, and Hawaiian cultural perspectives applied in everyday life.
Why ha'a? Ha'a means humble. It's also the word that was once used for hula. Our style is the ‘ai ha’a style. As we bend our knees, we literally get closer to the earth, a simple but profound gesture that gives gratitude for the land beneath our feet… for the profound blessing of our beautiful world.

Hula is meditation-in-motion and the embodied form of aloha, living with kindness, compassion, and reverence for all life.
Hula is the cultural dance from the islands of Hawai’i. It is rooted in the natural way the body moves, as well as the movements and cycles of nature. Like nature, hula is rhythmic, inclusive, transformative, physical, spiritual, and healing. Our hands tell the story of the lyrics in the songs and our bodies bring the poetry to life. Our dances express reverence for all life, describe the forces of nature, convey love for cherished relations, and portray the legends and history of Hawai’i.

Ha'a Hula classes are brought to you from our various studio locations in North America, with mirrors to help support your learning. You’ll also connect with a community of other people who aspire to experience more aloha in everyday life through the path and practice of hula.

School Founder / Kumu
Ha'a Hula was founded by Kumu Hula Andrea Luchese. She offers Ha'a Hula CONNECT, FOUNDATION, LIFE, and LEGACY courses throughout the year, along with classes in how to apply the teachings of Hawaiian cultural perspectives in everyday life. New and returning students are warmly welcomed to connect with our online hula 'ohana (family).
Kumu Andrea studied under Kumu Hula Raylene Ha’alele’a Kawaiae'a from 2003 until her passing in 2012. She worked closely with Kumu Raylene on her journey of becoming a kumu hula and was later given 'uniki rites by Kumu Keala Ching.
Kumu Andrea's teaching style is supportive and inclusive and she embraces all with a loving presence.
